I can’t believe we have FINALLY reached the shortest day of the year. Tomorrow we start getting back daylight!! How sweet is that?

Boyd’s ALWAYS been a bit “odd” THAT’s why Lila likes him!

sassy1: But it will be in the morning. For five more days* it will still be getting dark earlier. * Time may vary with latitude.

The winter solstice is the shortest amount of daylight in the year. However, that doesn’t mean that daylight is earlier and dark is later from the start, equally and evenly. Study the little figure-eight thingy in the eastern Pacific on globes. It shows both the latitude of the noon sun on a given day, but also how far ahead or behind median solar noon the actual solar noon is. Or just check the paper for when sunrise and sunset is for the week before and after the solstice and see for yourself.
