“April 12, 2021, 8:32 PM UTC / Updated April 13, 2021, 12:48 AM UTCOne student was killed and a police officer was injured Monday in a shooting at a high school in Tennessee”
It’s 7 AM where I am now. Have we had our first mass shooting for the day, yet?
I would be upset if this were the new normal, but it’s been going on for decades. Thousands of people have been gunned down since 2000. There have been a lot of “Thoughts and Prayers” offered and they apparently don’t work.
Gun control is the answer of choice from mainly the left but no one wants to address the question of what has changed in our society that has brought us to this point. It wasn’t guns.
US population under 18: 74,000,000. Total US COVID deaths under 18: 246. Total deaths in school shootings in ten-year period 2009-2018 (including shooters and adults): 104. Good thing the media keeps us focused where the real risks are.
I do not like guns. I DO like collecting things. I understand the love of gun collecting. I lived with one and made big bucks when he passed away. The only difference is, guns are far more dangerous than your average porcelain trinket. I never saw anyone killed with a Hummel figurine. Gun owners/collectors MUST become more aware of the issues. Why are they not volunteering (or being forced to) teach gun etiquette? Buying more guns is not the answer to preventing them from being removed. Start with at least trying harder to remove the thousands of illegal ones floating around our city streets. Follow the laws already on the books about violations. In this case, I don’t really care if your ‘rights’ are violated. It’s just that no one seems to be doing much about any of it.
Define mass shootings……….Ever week end on Chicago’s south side in warm weather, has been going on for years. The media just switches the term mass shooting with the term gang violence. Notice I said GANG violence not gun violence, big difference.

RepubliKKKans in Congress claim to believe in “family values” and love kids, but what they really love is NRA/gun industry money.

We all know what it was. The NRA claiming that guns are the solution to every problem and that everyone should be permitted to carry an AK47.
