I was amazed to discover recently that Bob Ross was a retired USAF sergeant. He said he hated yelling at people and when he retired adopted that mellow attitude.
Oaks, along with cedars are among my favorite trees. Our property also has maples and dogwoods. I tolerate pines as long as they are more than falling distance from the house. I’ve declared war on gumball trees and not a one still exists on my property.
Everyone forgets that a man named William Alexander had a painting show with “happy” trees and sky and reflections, etc. long before Bob Ross. (Ross copied him.) It bothers me that no one remembers William Alexander.

I loved Bob Ross’ Joy of Painting. I never could master his happy little trees, no matter how hard I tried.

Bob Ross’ “happy tress” usually have more foliage and longer branches. Clever reference.

Bob used to say “make friends with a tree”, and the dog is about to.
