I hate resumes. When I first got my first real job, at a papermill, it was on an application, education and skills. After just under a full twenty years, part of a round of layoffs, we were given a seminar on resume writing. It felt more than awkward to sell yourself. A near spotless attendance, helping out more than required (discouraged by the union)…I just felt it was easier to be busy than to look busy. I have a hard time with the fuzzy skillset words for a proper work ethic I take for granted in myself and hope to find in others.
