Funny and sad at the same time. So many people direct their anger not at the person who deserves it, but at the person who can take it.

Monty, Gretchen is no longer the woman to whom you need to prove yourself. And you will never be able to out-macho the cop. You are, I fear, a born loser, beyond all hope.

And therein lies the conundrum of why it is so hard to change.

The youngest of my 3 sons really needs a strong woman to keep him in line and drive him to accomplish anything. I’m not sure why exactly, but my MIL lived with us (in the SAME house) when he was first born and she just came over from Cuba. After a year, I insisted we find her an apartment nearby (and my X would go there to take naps without any interruptions). Children are not quiet.

Said son has been divorced about 2-3 years now and dated at least 2 seriously, but he now agrees that the wife was best for him (and siblings agree with me he needs to either get back together or find similar). I may have to research and find the best dating site for him (I did great myself).

NEVER argue with a woman that’s holding a pot of coffee above your crotch. Trust me….I’ve been there!
