A water bed? Does anybody still sleep on them?

Didn’t know water beds had claws. They do have a ‘black hole’ that you can sink into and struggle to get out of, sort of like playing Jumanji.

My second ex-wife was always dropping earrings down the side of the mattress and the frame, sometimes causing a leak. It does not spray out, like in this comic, or in Edward Scissorhands. Just a small drip, all contained in the liner.

One word that I have not heard said

    In many years is “waterbed.”

Recall when those were all the rage?

(Now that’s a way to show my age.)

They may have seemed like cozy fun,

But not when you were filling one

    Or carrying its heavy weight.

The harder models sure aren’t great

    For back support or circulation.

    Furthermore, there’s radiation:

    Heaters make magnetic fields

That may cause cancer (there’s no shield).

    And Edward Scissorhands displays

    Another reason for the craze

    Declining from its ’80s peak:

At times you’d have to fix a leak.

While waterbeds can still be bought

    Online today, I’d rather not.

A bubble in the water mattress sounds like a fish splashing on the surface of the water. My cat batted on the surface until he found that bubble, leaped, and landed with his claws out. I got to bed very late and had to find a new waterbed patch kit the next day.
