Has to be AFTER the war. When radar was part of the war effort – everything about it was kept hush-hush. One of my uncles enlisted BEFORE the U.S. got into World War II and he was trained in the use of radar – but was forbidden to speak about it – even to his closest friends and/or relatives.

Just one big problem here. Radar works on radio frequency waves, sonar works on sound waves.
