I’ve been trying to think of the name and I’m not sure, but there was a famous conductor from a couple or three generations back who was very energetic in his conducting, always jumping from the podium and running over to different sections of the orchestra. This was a problem during studio recording because the sound of him running and jumping was very clear. The sound engineer had him wear soft, well-padded slippers during recording.
