Boy: Nope---I never saw a television set.
Nancy: Come into my house, Peewee. Just wait till you see this. Isn't it wonderful?
Boy: Oh, it's all right-- ----But this new invention is even better.
It’s a good day for me when nobody calls it a stereopticon. View-Master was older than the 50s, but if I open a tab to look up the date, it’ll take five minutes to open, and I’m not up to that today.
An interesting phase of sex education for me came when I happened upon my dad’s collection of stereoscopic photos. In his defense, they were in a tattered envelope under a bunch of long-forgotten souvenirs from his Navy days in WWII. Apparently, I inherited his appreciation for the female form.

For those of you who don’t recognize what Pee-Wee’s holding, it’s a stereoscope, which was popular around the turn of the LAST century.

The 1950s toy “View-Master” was an updated stereoscope.

That stereoscope looks somewhat like today’s VR head gear—and VR will someday replace modern TV.

Yep, back when the TV was a new invention. Hard to imagine.
Fritzi must have had some money, that was a pretty big screen for 1949.
