Inflation in the US is mild compared to other countries. I was in Turkey in 1964 (courtesy of the US Army). If I’d then taken $100 US, converted it to Lira, left it in a bank at 6% compounded interest, I could have gone back, 40 or so years later, and taken the Lira and converted it back to US – and had 3/4 of a penny!
