It’s pretty much the same all over the USA I think. When I went to school, the first day of school was the day after Labor Day and ended the last week day of June. Ten full months of school and two months summer vacation. I think it works better that way. Snow days are automatically built in without having to figure them out. Families could plan their vacations without wondering if they’ll be returning late to get the kids back in school in the fall.

Same here I think. The university started classes two days late last week due to Harvey.
