In the tradition of food porn and design porn, we need a phrase for the equivalent from Etsy (or, more likely I suspect, Pinterest). A quick search suggests “craft porn” is not the answer.
For all of the people complaining about new Nancy, let me provide you with some data.
For the month of March, the previous artist’s comics averaged 9 comments, 29 likes, and 8 pins.
For the month of June, the new artist’s comics averaged 59 comments, 63 likes, and 12 pins.
More people are showing up to the page, interacting, and leaving positive feedback. Or just arguing in the comments about how everything is the fault of boomers being a terrible generation of self-absorbed whiners.
But the important thing is, more people are loading the page, and loading ads, and making Go Comics money than they did with the previous artist. And that matters significantly more than your opinion.
ATTENTION HATERS: It’s come to my attention that the reason you’re still making negative comments about this strip and/or the artist weeks after this new remake has been unveiled is simply because you can’t find the exit doors.
If you would please follow the arrows ^ until you see the “X” on the upper right, you’ll be out of this strip in no time and can resume your comic reading to strips that are more to your liking. Thank you for expressing your opinions and sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your stay.
Well, I just caught up with a week’s worth of New Nancy. It was a busy week. Most interesting again is the comment section. I wonder when it will start being less than 30% complainers and people who complain about complainers. Generally (but certainly not always), the complainers add nothing, but the complaining about complaining group adds even less, I believe. I still don’t like New Nancy very much, but I point out why. The ones who come in only to say “This strip sucks,” I just don’t get. But, they either pay their two bucks a month or put up with a billion ads, so they have the right to join in.
And RI, in case you see this, I looked for your question but came up empty. I have seen GC send alerts weeks after they are posted, however, so there’s still a chance.
Nancy lives in the 21st century and should be free to make contemporary jokes. As fo the art, the only problem I had was the overly jaundiced skin tones and that has been fixed.

A tech joke, but I laughed.

They could also make cover to go over the camera so that the hackers and the NSA can’t see what you’re doing.

Johnny: This? Why I could make a hat, or a brooch, a pterodactyl…

Anyone who’s ever read Vonnegut’s “The Big Space Fuck” knows that Clorox bottles are the way to go in making bird houses.
