Joe: ? Uh... what're you doing, Eddie? Captain Eddie: Tryin' to think of a name fah my new boat. Joe: Don't overthink it, just go with the moment. Captain Eddie: OK... how about "The Blank Stare"? Joe: OK, maybe a little thinking...
Strangely enough I think “The Blank Stare” is a great name for a boat. Also could be used to describe the face that Eddie’s cat has every time it uses the tray…
USS Missouri is anchored at Pearl Harbor. if he sells it to the Navy… or the Wackier Ship in the Army…? also, by online translator, “nova” translates as “nova”, “no va” is “does not go”… and my nominee: Carte Blanche…
i’m looking at the boat wondering, “is this really a new boat?” because if it isn’t every fisherman knows that it is bad luck to rename an already-named boat. on second thought, perhaps that’s how eddie lost his last one…
“Loan Afloat”“Occupied”“Lost a drift”“Moving Target”“Objects in water are closer than they appear”“Imperfect Storm”“1000 Yard Stare”“Wish You Were Here”“The Jolly Stan Roger”

“A Blank Stare!” That reminds me of Michele Bachman, Herman Cain and Rick Perry during the Republican debates.

Fairport must be new here. A blank page from Wiley would generate political comments. Just practice your eye-roll exercises as needed and enjoy.

I think he should name it after Paulie……If he named it Danae, he’d be asking for it….

It doesn’t matter what he names the boat. It will be gone before the paint has dried.

I’ll offer “Miss Adventure”.

RR, obviously he can’t use “USS” anything, but why do you say “USS Missouri” is available?

I can say without fear of being proved wrong that NO ONE is going to be able to guess what the name of Captain Eddie’s boat will be.

Personally, considering the skipper, I think “Non Sequitur” would be perfect. Great meta-humor, too.
bluegirl285 about 13 years ago
Considering some boat names I’ve heard, The Blank Stare isn’t such a bad one.

It will be revealed in tomorrow’s strip.

“So how do we know you didn’t change it after we guessed it right, and saved yourself $1000? Just saying…”
Because comics are produced far ahead of publication. You don’t know that? Tomorrow’s edition was done weeks ago.

It’s amazing that Cap’n Eddie can be so literal. “Fantastic Voyage” more closelly describes his usual style.I love the cat, too.
