    I hollowed out a book and put a transistor radio (Remember those?), in it to listen to the Tigers in the World Series in ’68…I was in high school……Got caught in 5th hour study hall……yep, still proud of myself…

    The saw was in the book but how did he get over there? Why doesn’t he go back the same way?

    The gap looks fairly narrow….couldn’t he just cut the sign down and make a bridge?

    @Varnes

    Did something similar in ‘61 with a transistor radio. Had it in a front pocket in my trousers, ran the earplug wire under shirt and through sleeve into hand and leaned on hand. Didn’t fool 7th grade block teacher. He said to take it out, turn it up so the whole class could hear the ball game.

    Heard ‘68 World Series on delayed broadcast on Armed Forces Radio while in a certain tropical, controversial country. Pleasantly surprised to learn of Tiger’s win.

    Seems what he’s doing is only sensible, to me.Why doesn’t Ikea supply a self-help saw with all their products? Actually, been a while since I visited one of their stores – maybe they do!

    You’re in a room with no doors or windows, and there’s nothing inside but a table and a mirror. How do you get out?

    You look in the mirror to see what you saw. Take the saw and the table in half. Two halves make a [w]hole, and there’s your exit!

    Just because his solution wasn’t the obvious solution doesn’t make it not a solution… At least until he dies when no one helps him….

    Also, one must wonder how he got to the sign in the first place. Did the bridge fall down after he crossed over to the sign??

    In the bookstore I asked where the self-help section was – clerk would not tell me – said it would defeat the whole purpose.

    Self-help books are only a guideline to advise OTHERS what THEY need to do.

    Nope, sorry, the next hint is just 7 mile south of the 17 N. parallel at the South China Sea.
