Once had several people think I was giving them a good deal when offering them “two for the price of three” (no I didn’t actually charge them for three)

Years ago, a small market near my house had a handmade sign:

    “Regular price, $3.29, manager’s special, 3 for $10”YOU SAVE 63¢!"

I took a picture of it cos it cracked me up.

And back in the 70’s, a coin dealer at the flea market had a plate with about a dozen nickels on it, and a sign:

“Jefferson nickels, 3 for 10¢ (one offer per customer) "So I handed him a dime, and took three nickels. He just said “Thanks.”

So I asked why he had any left…and he told me that in three years, I was the FIRST person to buy any.

He’d read about somebody else doing it, and not selling any, so he tried it himself. No one (but me) would buy any.

“They all think it must be a trick.”

    Wonder what would happen nowadays.

Sandflea…um…. I think you missed the point of my post….

It was THEIR math, not mine. Completely nonsensical and backwards…. Obviously, you’d be spending an extra 13¢, not saving 63¢.That’s why it cracked me up so much I took a picture.

Hey, how many of you have a ¢ key?
