You must used to homemade displays, using only the items found in tents and those “superstores”. Out family display will start just at sundown (not counting bottlerockets and smoke bombs and such), and likely be over before the moon comes up (this year, anyway, with the moon in this phase).
One year our little town decided to make their limited fireworks last an hour. Which resulted in a 1 to 2 minute space between each one. BOOORRRRIIIIINNNNGGGG
