i wonder how long ago this cartoon was completed – bread cost 1.6 trillion Zimbabwe dollars a loaf in August, and has probably passed the quadrillion-dollar mark by now!
I am posting this on 4 Sept 2011 because this is the first time I have read these archives. This level of inflation is exactly what happened in Germany in the late 1930s and was one of the reason’s why Hitler was so popular with the masses. He began to turn the economy around. That is a very scary thought especially since Zimbabwe is our immediate neighbour.
