This thread hits close to home because my lovely female accomplice in crime’s son and his lovely wife are expecting and her shower is tomorrow. Lots of activity going on at my place ahead of time, because my mate is providing all the decorations and creating the favors to be distributed.
Sometimes showers (wedding or baby) are done inaproppriately by family members and “registrations” are done for items too expensive for the occaision, but for wedding gifts. Even when vows were taken seriously (for life) some young couples would never have expected friends or other than the closest family to give “serious gifts” for anything other than a wedding… and now that over 50% don’t even plan to honor their vows— well, don’t expect a gift from me ;-)
