Amen, Claire, Amen. I’ve got an adorable dog too, but she’s so high energy that if I let her run amok she wouldn’t be fit to be within a mile of people. That’s also why a lot of little dogs have behavioral issues. “Ouch! It bit me! Oh, but it’s so cuuuute!” Yeah… still destructive behavior—just in a smaller but still stressed and unhappy package.

She’ll grow a pair when he starts humping her $200 shoes.

A couple of those zap mats will do the trick.

Snatch a knot in his collar; that’ll get his attention. You have to win the early battles; otherwise you lose the war later.Think 2 year old boys! That are used to gertting their own way. Now take them to Wallyworld. How would you like to do that every day? The time is now to get control with Gus. Remember – you have the leash and you put on the collar. Gus would be a lot more enjoyable with better manners – and he would enjoy his life more too.

Turn a rolling chair mat upside-down and put it on the couch. Gus won’t want to sit there… but then, neither will you.

It’s good advice for the readers, too. I am so glad Claire’s friend adopted this dog. Awesome!
