We call it a scam! I hate gift cards!! You either go back and spend more money or leave $1 on them for eternity. Either way, BIG profit for the store.
As long as people will buy them, stores will sell them. I agree, I’d prefer the cash, to be spent on a specific gift, but as a businessman… you can bet I’ll be offering gift cards!
