Really, I don’t get Dad being so upset about it.

Dad knows that if she has an accident and is in the hospital the bills will skyrocket, and if it leaves her with any disability (at the time this was done) it would be hard to get it later. I found out I had a disabling, progressive condition and a few minor, non-life threatening chronic illnesses. when I was in college. The company raised my rate a hundred a month every few months until Dad could not pay it, and we couldn’t even get anyone to do a catastrophic policy. And all that is happening is my legs will slowly give out and become paralyzed. My version of asthma is just coughing, never needed any emergency care. Oh, I’m still walking over a decade after my disease made me uninsurable, more slowly but I am on my feet!
