yes, if someone can be fluent in English and that isn’t their first language , then that person is admirable for their feat of accomplishment.
I am learning Spanish and am thankful for the ease of learning it compared to the cruel twists and inconsistencies laying in wait for the learner of English
nighthawks - I had the opposite problem. I used to speak fluent Spanish (I’ve forgotten a lot - use it or lose it), and was trying to help a Mexican friend with his English. He used to throw up his hands and ask “Why? Why is it like that?” Words spelled the same but different meanings, words that sound exactly alike but aren’t. Yes, Spanish is much easier.
