As I was reading this, I thought the punchline would be Ruthie saying, “That’s what I would do as President”
Haven’t they done Panel 10 already, judging from the amount of history most young people know?
Panel #1 is the only one I have a problem with, Lies have a way of causing problems regardless of the so called good intentions.

Actually, Ruthie, all the Von Trapps really had to do to get out of Austria before WWII was to take the local train to Italy and no Nazis were chasing them.
They had a concert contract and had no trouble leaving because of that. The Austrian puppets assumed they would be coming back.
