In real-world land that potentially a pretty brutal execution. Option 1: The balloons have a slow leak and he lands safely — probably in the ocean — in a locked but not watertight cage. Option 2: The balloons don’t have a leak and ascend until he either suffocates due to altitude, or they reach a point where the lack of air pressure causes them to rupture, dropping him from extreme altitude to his death.

I much prefer these older cartoons to the new ones with the stupid mice.
