Mouse 1: Remember when I fell in love with that cat? Mouse 2: I remember. Mouse 1: Dumbest thing I ever let happen. Mouse 2: Yeah. Mouse 1: It had like, a zero chance of ever working out. Mouse 2: Less than zero. Ellie: Well, that's my Henry, who I have a crush on, girls. You think it could work? Mouse 1: Oh, sure it could, Ellie! Mouse 2: Yeah. We were just talking about that!

I’m sorry, I find the whole thing with the mouse, on stilts yet, and a crush on a human. As Graham Chapman of Monty Python would have said, “alright, that’s enough, it’s just silly.” Don’t think a cat is needed though, but how about reacquiring Boof and the Crow’s Nest guys?

Ellie is hopelessly in love in a no win situation here. But we must remember, that’s why these strips are called “cartoons” - one must have a sense of humour and a vivid imagination. If not, almost everything protrayed in a strip would indeed be silly.
