We did the 1812 Overture back in high school, in a gymnasium using hunting rifles and blanks shot into a 50 gallon drum for cannon. When the first one went off, a lady in the front row must have jumped a couple of feet into the air out of her chair :)

Having the talking dog (that used to belong to a lady on another ship that the captain was wooing) move in was bad enough, but the mice are becoming way too big a part of this strip, IMHO.

I remember when this strip was about pirates, instead of mice and dogs everyday.
