They can come and steal my tomatoes, I’ve got dozens of them out there. May have to take down the “bunny fence” and let them have at it! I’d can them, but they are all heirloom and those don’t can well.

The best ever: going out to grandpa’s tomato patch with a salt shaker and start biting in.The worst: seeing a green tomato worm with horns.

You can’t win Charlie. You’ll just have to set up a watch rotation that excludes Louie.
Good morning, Crew!

2old2readcomics, cook them up and freeze them! Don’t let all that goodness go to waste. Furthermore, you could just freeze them whole without cooking. Then add to soups and stews as needed. I do both those all the time. I stopped canning things a few years ago. Too much work, LOL!

Thanks to all of you for the tomato “ideas” I will try all of them. Now who has “ideas” for green beans and carrots? LOL Oh and small, white Japanese eggplants. I thought it was the big purple kind, wrong label on the start. I know, I’ll sneak next door and get a green pepper and make Ratatouille. Never made it with carrots and beans, but what the heck. And freeze. Frozen Assets.

I didn’t know you could trap bunnies. Charlie, just give up. Grow flowers instead.

Allan thank you! I appreciate that! And mom will have been gone 8 years this Sept. 21.
I talk to God most nights, unless I fall asleep first. Sometimes that helps put me to sleep. I guess HE’s listening! :-)

Allan, I was lucky. They had me late in life. In those days anyway, Mom passed away when she was 87 (she had a REAL interesting life, Lt. in the Army Nurse Corp in WW2, worked at Walter Reed Hospital and met folks such as George Patton, Black Jack Pershing, Jimmy Doolittle, Elinore Roosevelt, etc. and was a Registered Nurse for 40 some years. Back when RN’s wore white dress uniforms, white stockings, and their starched nurses caps with their Nursing School pin attached to it. Daddy worked in a factory since he was 19, died at the age of 96, still able to live on his own and mind sharp as a tack! They were the epitomy of the working class of America!

I love those giant rabbits with their huge tails. I used to have a giant lop, but he was only about 2 feet long.

2old2readcomics, I bought some white eggplant on a whim at our Farmer’s Market because they looked cool! LOL! I have been using them in my lunch. I fry them with my zucchini in olive oil, throw in some chopped onion and grated carrot, when they are cooked enough, I throw on a slice of cheese, let it soften, then flip the whole thing over into a flatbread so the cheese is on the bottom and melts more, throw on my fried hot peppers that I have cooked in tomato sauce and garlic, roll it up, and I have my flatbread sandwich lunch! Sometimes I spread the flatbread with a hummus of my choice at the moment that I bought at the store on my shopping trip.

Oh you can also freeze eggplant, which I recently discovered on a google search.

I have seen comments here and about that there weren’t many tributes paid to what today is. I forget where I saw them, but as I am catching up on my queue for today, The Wizard of Id had a very nice, subtle one. I saved it.

Stuff happens, I see.
And on an unrelated note, I see we’re back to the black water. Cue the Doobie Brothers …
