Like capkidd we’re Lab people, yet I cannot help but think that Louie and Uno the Westminster winning Beagle would’ve been friends. Thirteen year old Uno, who passed away from cancer this month, heralded his 2008 win in with definitive “ah-roo-s” that I think Louie would’ve applauded with his responding woof: https://www.mystatesman.com/sports/dog-life-uno-beagle-who-wowed-westminster-dies/rHCDhBBaHjWc83RUkWOVJK/
Border Collie people fought AKC conformation standards for BCs because they concentrate on physical conformation, which could matter less with a Border Collie, and have been the virtual ruination of some breeds.
The problem with those dog shows is that is like a popularity contest. One has to curry favor with the crowd, the judges and know what the judges like and so forth. To be honest, it has more to do with breed conformation than anything else.
Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong.

The problem is that there are too many smelly garbage cans outside of Madison Square Garden. The labs always get distracted on the way in.

Who cares what the people in that snobbatorium think?

It seems to me the main problem is labs are too friendly and get distracted by people. The judges want controlled.

A show based on beauty, not brains. Give me a border collie or Aussie any day (though we have a lab now).

If Westminster were to pick a lab I bet more people would watch!!!!

Besides Westminster favoring certain breeds over others, their broadcasts have lacked something without David Frei.

In our house we’re fox terror fans… misspelling intentional and justified.

Never hurts to keep hoping. However, Louie’s already a huge winner in my book.
Good Evening, Crew.
