I used to see a guy and a standard poodle at the park. The guy had one of those throwing sticks, and his game was to cock his arm, and then wait… and wait… and wait some more before throwing it. The dog barking madly at him the whole time. Finally, the dog got tired of waiting, raced around behind him, jumped straight up about 6 or 7 feet, plucked the ball out of the cup, raced around in front of him, dropped it at his feet, backed up and barked at him. They repeated that scene two more times before the guy finally figured out what the dog was doing, and stopped messing around.
Reminds me of what Bob Gibson, that pitching great of the Cardinals back in the 60’s, said to his catcher Tim McCarver, after Bob tied the World Series record with strikeout number fifteen in a game against the Tigers in 1968. Above the cheering crowd, he said…“Gimme the damn ball”
I think it might be a good lesson to put Louie in a kennel for a week. Even though he would be well taken care of it would still teach that spoiled dog a lesson.

Louie doesn’t go for those kinds of games, Nate. Throw the ball already.

Good things come to those who wait, Louie.
Although, if I were in his hypothetical shoes, I’d be beyond ready to go fetch by this point. Just throw it already!
’Evening, Crew.
