When we went to the local Baskin-Robbins we’d get a separate vanilla cone for our Old English Sheepdog. The dog loved it, and we got him to lick the ice cream rather than chomp on it right away.
Have you ever tried using a push mower, especially when the grass really needs cutting? I don’t care if the lawn is a size of a postage stamp — I’d pick an electric mower every time over one of those heart-attack inducing abominations. It’s one of the biggest reasons that I’m glad I live in an apartment!_________________________
I didn’t say “electric mower”…I said RIDING mower, as in sit on and ride while cutting grass.
We had a poodle once, who we took on vacation and introduced her to frozen custard. Upon our return to Texas, we stopped at a soft-serve place, and got the dog a small cup for her to enjoy. She took two licks, and looked at us like, “This AIN’T frozen custard…”
We took a new 1 liter tub of ice cream out of the freezer and left on the counter top to soften a little as it was too hard to scoop. Our dog jumped up, grabbed it and ran into the garden with it and before we could stop him he had taken it under the trees and wouldn’t come out until it was all gone. We couldn’t believe just how quickly he gobbled it all down. He came out from under the trees with a big grin on his face then he stopped closed his eyes and fell to the ground in pain. I guess that massive dose of “Brain Freeze” means he won’t be doing that again any time soon.

Guess he knew even back then that ice cream isn’t healthy for dogs.
