Isn’t he on the cover of magazines right now? Along with Snoopy? With the movie in theaters aren’t there some magazines with him on the cover? I know Times had Charlie Brown, Linus, Snoopy, Schroder, and Lucy on the April 9, 1965 cover and you can buy a copy of Life’s March 17, 1967 issue from Amazon with Charlie Brown and Snoopy on the cover.
Pretty prophetic, although Charlie Brown wasn’t much of a presence in comic books (and I think artists other than Schulz did most of that work). “Peanuts” was more of a paperback book and TV special thing based on the comic strips, with the occasional foray into film and stage).
And either Time or Newsweek had him on the cover in early 2000. I wonder if Schulz even had an inkling of an idea back then how famous this comic would get.
Patty and Charlie Brown in a duel…Charlie Brown: “You, you, you, you GIRL, YOU!”Patty: “You, you, you, you ol’ CHARLIE BROWN!!”Charlie Brown: “Ouch! Good Grief, what an insult!”

I wouldn’t mind if they’d put the date at the top, like with Doonesbury. Squinting at the screen isn’t my idea of fun.

I love the early strips where the punch line is a chase.
