Thank you Schroeder. May it be a healthier, kinder, happier new year for us all. Classical music has been a balm these past nine-and-a-half months to be sure. A toast to Beethoven, to you and all your friends, and to all our friends who visit here.
I have a theory why he stopped and tilted the piano. In the last panel, his lower bass cleff staff changed to treble clef. His top staff remained treble as nothing indicated otherwise. Which meant he wanted to play much higher keys on the last word, most likely for emphasis. But when he realized he would run out of high keys, he shook the high notes to the lower part of the keyboard (like moving Middle C to the bottom note), thus creating higher notes above that. Thatās impossible, but to Schroeder and the comic strip world, fine. Today, heād just tap on a āoctave transposeā button on an electronic keyboard and have electronically transposed notes.

Is that a toy piano or a word processor?

Ran out of staff and had to erase what he had already played. Didnāt realize he was playing an etch-a-piano.
