He looks at her as she asks,"Charlie Brown, see what time it is, please?"<BR><BR> He walks down the hallway.<BR><BR> He looks at the clock which is sitting on a cabinet with a vase of flowers behind it. He is puzzled.<BR><BR> He smiles and looks up at her with his hands outstretched, holding his right hand slightly higher than his left one. She looks at him and says,"Ten minutes to three? All right, thank you"<BR><BR>

Schulz introduced the zigzag shirt in a clever way. It’s never mentioned, and it isn’t an issue, and yet in the final panel it looks like Charlie is saying “Tah dah! Check out my new zigzag shirt!”

The zigzag is probably homage to George Herriman and his later “Krazy Kat” strips. Many of these have a similar motif in the form of a desert tree, a lightning bolt or the design on a Navaho vase or drum, inter alia.
