Charlie Brown looks at him and says, "Hi, 'Pig-Pen'..where you goin' all dressed up?"<br> <br> Pigpen replies, "I'm not 'going'..I'm oming..I've been to a birthday party.." Charlie brown asks,"Oh? Was it fun?"<br> <br> Pigpen replies, "Not for me..I never got inside the house.."<br> <br> He walks off concluding, "They didn't recognize me!"<br> <br>

I never saw Pig Pen this way before. Seems that Mr Schulz had taken some of that funny tobacco or something.

I think this the only time I’ve seen Pig Pen clean for a whole strip. If Schulz hadn’t had Charlie Brown call him by name, most of his audience would not have recognized him.

So how did CB recognize him? This could be a character statement about him, that he’s good with facial recognition.
