"Linus is standing in the yard looking at a bird standing on the grass. <br> <br> Linus kneels in the grass and the bird walks up to him. <br> <br> Linus is patting the bird on the head as Charlie Brown is standing behind him watching with a questioning look of exclamation. <br> <br> Charlie Brown walks up to Lucy who is on the sidewalk with her jump rope. Charlie Brown says to her, “Your brother pats birds on the head..” Lucy replies, “WHAT?” <br> <br> Lucy walks over to Linus and yells, “ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!” Linus jumps up in shock and back away from Lucy as the bird watches. <br> <br> “Are you trying to make us the laughing stock of the whole community?” Lucy says to Linus, as the bird walks away feeling bad. <br> <br> Linus stands listening to Lucy with a frown on his face as she goes on saying, “How long do you think we’ll last around here if word gets out that you pat birds on the head?” <br> <br> Lucy yells, “NOW, CUT IT OUT!!” as Linus leans back in fear. <br> <br> Linus stands on the grass looking sad. <br> <br> Snoopy comes walking by and Linus looks at him. <br> <br> Linus asks Lucy “How about dogs?” As Snoopy sits next to Linus, Lucy replies “Dogs are all right…you can pat all the dogs you want.. In fourth grade I put on a play based on this storyline.
