This dialogue was recycled into the prime time special “It’s Arbor Day, Charlie Brown,” which premiered four years later. Schroeder’s promise to kiss Lucy if she actually makes a home run is like the strips in late August thru mid-September 1967 where Linus makes a deal with his grandma that he’ll give up his blanket if she quits smoking-in terms of the core element of something you’d NEVER dream possible actually does come true-and WHAMMO-you regret making such a deal or promise.
