Peppermint Patty ice skates on a frozen pond. Marcie stands in the snow and says, "I didn't know you could skate, sir!"<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty skates and says, "I'm really into sports, Marcie . . . It's my life . . . When I grow up, I'm gonna play professional ball in the summer and skate in an ice show in the winter . . ."<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty jumps in the air and continues, "During the off-season, I'll probably do a little bowling or pop a wheelie in a moto-cross . . ."<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty lies buried head first in the snow. Marcie says, "You're an amazing person, sir." Peppermint Patty says, "Stop calling me 'Sir'!"<BR><BR>

Marcie yells at Peppermint Patty for not seeing Snoopy is a dog, but keeps calling PP “sir”! That’s the pot calling the kettle “sir”!

This strip marks the beginning of the longest storyline in Peanuts history, lasting a little more than six weeks. It would later be adapted into the TV special “She’s a Good Skate, Charlie Brown”.
