This strip would have been an appropriate one to use in one of those Charlie Brown Book series teaching things like science, etc, that were published in the 1970s and early 1980s. This one could have been used when demonstrating the colder a surface, the more snow will accumulate there. Another strip that was used as a demonstration was the one published on 1/6/1963(I think the date is correct) when demonstrating that no two snowflakes are identical; where the premise of this strip is Linus actually does see two identical snowflakes, as the joke.
