Someone said that The Rapture happened years ago and the only person taken was Madelynne Murray O’Haire, well-known atheist who got mandatory prayer in public schools banned.
I’m 60 and people have been saying we’re in the last days since before I was born.

I come back to this strip (and the whole 1980 summer camp arc) often. To me, it’s the most thoughtful work from Charles Schulz’s entire career, and well illustrates the larger issue of seeking to objectively question and understand one’s beliefs — as Schulz ultimately did — rather than merely believing what’s familiar and comfortable.

Way to go, Linus. Always question authority, religious authority most of all.
