Charlie Brown stands in the clearing and looks to his right. He exclaims,"She's got to be kidding!"<BR><BR> He walks along and says,"She must think I'm really dumb...."<BR><BR> Lucy kneels on the ground smiling and holding a footbal upright. She says,"Here we go, Charlie Brown....I'll hold the ball, and you come running up and kick it..."<BR><BR> He spreads his hands and replies,"What you really mean is, you'll pull the ball away, and I'll land on my back and kill myself!"<BR><BR> She frowns as he exclaims,"Well, I have news for you....never again! Forget it!"<BR><BR> She holds the ball and turns to him saying,"Wait!" He walks away waving her off; he says,"I said forget it!!"<BR><BR> He looks back and concludes,"I'm just glad you're the only person in the world who thinks I'm dumb enough to fall for that trick again..."<BR><BR> He stops and stares at Snoopy, Woodstock, Sally, Peppermint Patty, and Marcie all smiling at him and holding footballs upright on the ground.<BR><BR>

The depressing thing is that they’re all willing to play this malicious prank on Charlie Brown. Lucy is often just plain evil, so the fact that she’s willing to do this comes as no surprise. But these others? What did Charlie Brown ever do to Peppermint Patty? And Marcie has to be the sweetest person in the entire strip? Why would she be so mean? And Sally would do this to her own brother? And Snoopy would do this to his owner who feeds him every day? Woodstock has had little to no interaction with Charlie Brown, so why would he want to prank Charlie Brown in such a malicious way?

There should’ve been a running joke where she tries to trick other male characters into kicking the football
