Sally walks out onto the doorstep and calls,"Hey, dog!"<BR><BR> She approaches the literary ace sitting atop his doghouse. She says,"I'm going to make my own valentine's this year..."<BR><BR> She looks at the reader and continues,"I'm going to cut out some pretty red hearts, and glue lace around them..."<BR><BR> She looks up at him and says,"What I want you to do is type out a nice verse"<BR><BR> The literary ace types,"Chocolate chip cookies are red. Chocolate chip cookies are blue. Chocolate chip cookies are sweet. So are you."<BR><BR> He looks up at Sally as she reads the verse and shouts,"THIS IS TERRIBLE! I CAN'T MAKE A VELENTINE WITH THAT! WRITE ANOTHER ONE!!"<BR><BR> The literary ace sits atop his doghouse and types,"Angel food cake with seven-minute frosting is red...angel food cake with seven-minute frosting is blue...angle food cake with seven-minute frosting is sweet....So are you."<BR><BR> He watches as Sally looks at the verse and cries,"THAT'S THE DUMBEST THING I'VE EVER READ!"<BR><BR> He walks off looking at the paper and thinking,"I guess I misunderstood...I though she wanted something sentimental..."<BR><BR>

Sally, in Panel 9:“That’s the MOST ASININE thing I’ve ever read! ANGEL FOOD CAKE, my ass! How ridiculous!” And YES, I, too, thought this was one of the MOST HILARIOUS Peanuts strips. Typical of Snoopy, twisting people’s requests around. He’ll never learn.
