I ALWAYS seek out the back row…at school, at church, art the job. Less chance of being noticed or called upon when in the back row.

But then there are sadists who focus on calling the back row attendees to talk about something. It gets me so made I once sat in the front row and got blurry vision caused by the histrionics of the speaker.
