    My dog’s like that. You can stand 2 feet from him shouting his name but if he is sniffing at something he won’t hear you. But is you open a kitchen cupboard he’s right there even if only a minute earlier he was at the bottom of the garden.

    Animals hear what they want to hear. They magically become deaf when they have to take a bath or go to the vet, but when it’s feeding time, they can a keen sense of hearing.

    Begging, Snoopy? I would have thought this pose was one he would never use as a dog who thinks he is, ummm, anything else but a dog.

    I should have said CPRA –CPRA or central progressive retinal atrophy is one of a group of eye diseases which can affect collies, border collies and Shetland sheepdogs (among others.)My first Sheltie was diagnosed with it when he was relatively young. It usually progresses slowly, with the dog eventually losing his central vision but retaining peripheral vision..I recall asking the vet what I could do about it. He told me – “nothing, it is congenital, but your dog will adapt.”The vet added, “you probably won’t be able to teach him to read.".Instead, my husband taught the dog to sneeze on command. That was a great party trick and our dog was a real party hound.

    @Snoopy_Fan

    Hello. It turns out I didn’t need a new email address. We have switched over to a new Broadband Provider but my email address is still the same.

    I went to the hairdressers on Wednesday to have the dead ends of my hair trimmed and the hairdresser done something extra. Want to see? I don’t have it in anymore now. My hair is wavy at the moment. But here is a pic:

    Apparently it’s called a “Skull Plait”

    You know what I’m going to say now.

    Have a fantastic weekend!
