Too bad ABC no longer has “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” since the Peanuts specials (even “A Charlie Brown Christmas”) are now in a new deal with AppleTV+.
I think it awful that the Peanuts specials will no longer be on network television. Now you have to subscribe to rotten Apple TV. Need to get the DVD’S
I had a friend that I have since lost touched with – but Halloween was his favorite holiday. He had several nieces and nephews who were pretty young – definitely under 10 if I remember correctly. He totally got into the Great Pumpkin – telling them stories, taking them to get pumpkins for carving, and dressing up as the Great Pumpkin more than once. He also would send them gifts “from the Great Pumpkin” and nice ones – better than Christmas, because he figured everyone else would give them great presents at Christmas. So … Linus you are not alone. :-)
Linus will stop beliving the great pumpkin when everyone else stops beliving in that jolly old man with the red suit and a white beard who goes ¨Ho Ho Ho¨ #it´s the great pumpkin, charlie brown

Linus it is a story that is told by you every year and then gets squashed,

It’s a rite of passage that every character recently introduced to the Peanuts gang has to go through, Margie.

Next they will be talking about Santa Clause.

Why is the Great Pumpkin any more ridiculous than Santa’s sleigh?

Wow, this is so eerie, or else this is a repeat. Like déjà vu, I could have read panel 2 with my eyes closed!

Linus, if you keep this up, people will think that you are out of your gourd.

That starts every year with an earthquake, and then the tension only rises: will we see the Great Pumpkin, or is the pumpkin patch not sincere enough?

Marcie’s pause sells this.

If you want to see “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” you’ll need Apple TV. It won’t be on broadcast television.

Not even Marcie Johnson can convince Linus to get over the Great Pumpkin.

I generally get a pleasant smile from the strip – it’s nice to get an outright laugh sometimes like today.

Fortunately Marcie was forewarned about Linus which will save her from spending Halloween night in a cold pumpkin field.

Linus was a rare true believer in the Great Pumpkin decades before Tim Burton documented his origin story.
