Some people are right handed – they are dexterous. Some people are left handed – they are sinister. Some people are equally skilled with both hands – they are ambidextrous. Some people are equally unskilled with both hands – I don’t know the term for this, but it describes me. I am “dumb from the neck down.”
I found out years ago that we have eye dominance as well, and it’s completely independent from hand dominance. For instance, I am right handed, but “left eyed”.
In basketball you better be ambidextrous and dribble with the left and right equally well. Or when attempting lay ups or hook shots. Otherwise a smart defensive player will shut you down.
One of my favorite Berra-esq came from St. Louis announcer Mike Shannon, They were discussing switch hitters in the booth and Shannon said: “I’d give my right arm to be ambidextrous!”

According to some reputable newspapers, such people are amphibians.
Don’t worry, Sally. Future journalists will make you look a proper intellectual, by comparison.

Being able to use both hands with ease should be a practice to ward off dementia. The connections in the hippocampus become thick and resilient.

I doubt most first graders even know the word ‘ambidextrous’, so I’m surprised they’d laugh at her like that. On the other hand, it is Peanuts.
