You know, MythBusters just did an episode about movie sound effects. Turns out when you punch a pig, it’s not really that loud! (And yes, they really did punch a pig…)

I don’t like Pigita. I thought (happily) Pig had dumped her last time around. Now, to no one’s good, she’s back! Arrrgh!

HOW TRUE … Women: can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em, AND you can’t fix their problems not because the problems are insolvable, but because they don’t WANT them fixed!
R0nin over 13 years ago
This is my ex.I would listen to her problems, let her vent, then (when she was ready) work with her to come up with a solution. Within a week, tops, she would want to “vent” about the same problem— because she wouldn’t do her part in carrying out the solution! She would much rather complain about something over and over, than do anything to resolve it.She was happy to have me do all the work to “fix” something she had a problem with, though. But if it called for any effort on her part (even just to maintain the solution that I worked to put into motion) she wouldn’t do it. She’d just go back to how she was doing things before. But if I wanted to vent about a problem… well, then I was the bad guy.Hey, I think I just figured out why she’s my “ex”! How much do I owe for this therapy session? ;)

Today’s pun: I’m guessing Pigita ordered a venti, and Pig a regular “joe.”

Next Pigita will open up a vent on Pig for him to fix. Luckily, she doesn’t have a knife next to her plate.+++++Then she can say, “Suture self.”

But… when has pig ever successfully fixed something? :-sHmm… granted, that punching may have helped her mood a little, too. ;-)

I hate saying this, but Pig you are better off with the mop and pillow.

Pig, letting her vent will make it better . ( As close to fixing it as you’re gonna get.)
darkandstormynight over 13 years ago
Pigita’s attitude is not unique to women. There are plenty of people of both genders who would rather complain about a problem than actually do something about it.
pmpope68 over 13 years ago
Funny but true. All some people want to do is complain; they don’t really want to change.

Generally speaking (this isn’t true for all men or all women) a man is wired to be a problem solver. He sees a problem or knows that something is bothering his wife and his instinctive reaction is to find a solution and fix the problem for his wife so that it can’t bother her anymore (chivalry isn’t dead). However, a woman is wired in such a way that when something is wrong or bothering her she doesn’t feel like she needs the man to fix it as much as she needs him to sympathize with her (feel her pain, give her a shoulder to cry on, cry with her…). She doesn’t really object to him fixing the problem for her but that’s not really what she’s asking for when she “vents” because she feels as though if he will nurture her emotionally then she can make it through her problems whether or not they get fixed.More simply said, men are more pragmatic and want to fix whatever caused the problem while women are more emotional and want to fix the inner pain that the problems have caused. This is a big part of what makes a good marriage so awesome is that you have one spouse who’s wired to fix the tangible problems and another wired to care for the emotion issues (both of which are equally important). It’s also what makes fathers better at discipline and mothers better at nurturing (a child truly needs both). And a real life woman typically doesn’t want to punch her husband for trying to fix a problem unless she feels like he’s trying to fix HER. Pig’s problem is that he’s dating a self centered psycho with anger issues. lol

I think this perfectly represents how men and women deal with things…men want to fix, women want to vent….I love pig’s idea about fixing so there is no need to vent…he’s such a sweetie!
