Sometimes the past is more difficult to go through than when it was the present. But, you are here now amongst us. Even though it was about a year ago, you are brave to bring us along.
One year in heart break time is not much time. There are no rules or timetables to guide us. Everone grieves in their own way. One thing I can promise is it does get so much better. ❤️
You can always draw a different outcome. It’s not like Griffin really got hit by a train/abducted by malevolent aliens/had his heart broken AND bank account cleaned out by someone.
I think writers’ block often happens because we are afraid to hurt other peoples’ feelings or sensibilities by sharing a story, or our audience will disapprove or be unsympathetic or they’ll think poorly about us or our story for whatever reason. You have to be feeling safe, supported and interesting to others, to express what’s on your mind. It’s hard to do that when you have just been through an experience of feeling uninteresting to someone you love. It may help if you write and draw for your next love.

Why isn’t there a sadness block?

But WE don’t know, so tell that blockhead block to block itself!

But never a block for joy?

That’s the part you’ve been working toward, the part of this story that needs to come out and be excised. You’re almost there Al, don’t stop now.

A weekend at the Hindenburg Estate would do you good.

Well this is ominous. At least the year long delay means things turned out OK.

Nietzche didn’t get much right, but he was mostly right about that which doesn’t kill us.

Yeah, I can see how knowing what happened might be very different from being able to communicate it in comic format. [[[[[[[[HUGS]]]]]]]]]]

Nice cross-hatching in the last panel! Those Blackwings sure put down a nice line, don’t they?

Yup, exactly because of that.
