Phoebe is sort of an anti-child, at least in the 21st century. While her parents are technophiles, Phoebe is a throwback to an earlier age…way earlier judging by the unicorn she’s riding.

Simply turning off the cell phone will not allow you to find nature’s beauty. It’s best to find that sweet spot.

Phoebe actually has people that would text, message, call, email or tweet her? Other than her parents, Max and one oddball friend she met at camp?

Yes, that would make lots of sense just to the phone off. [Sigh] There are times when I wonder why people often go by idiocy instead of common sense.

Marigold could just provide wifi if she wanted, because Unicorn! :P

i carry a cell, but i hate it…and leave it off or at home as often as i can. I regard the cell-phone as the ultimate infringement upon your right to be left alone when you wish, and NOT be at the world’s beck and call 24-7….

There are a few little pockets with no cell service in the Northern VA suburbs of DC – mostly stream-side park land.When I was working, I liked to my lunch break in those places. That way I wouldn’t be tempted to make or take calls while at lunch.Yes, I could just turn off my company issued phone, but the psychological effect of being out of the service area was better.

Cellphones are either the best or worst thing ever invented. I’m just not sure which.

Me, I just got an Apple Watch Friday, and I love it.

That spot is just up the highway from me.

I just wanted to say that I adore the atmospheric effect in the last panel, complete with the sky left white. Whether it was your intention or not, to me it is the absolute perfect representation of a misty, cloudy day in a forest.
