There is a difference between wisdom and knowledge. Nelson has knowledge, but hopefully Earl has acquired some wisdom to share with him.

Everything reverses from the early part of life to the latter part. Crazy.

Every electronic device should come with a kid to show how it works.

I still have one clock an hour behind. My VCR blinks 12:00. But, I easily did my income tax on paper and read two papers and the Internet daily.. Is it being knowledgeable to know the artist and lyrics to every rock and roll song between 65 and 77?

Adaptability trumps knowledge. It is wonderful to know how to diagram a sentence, but if you don’t know the latest in Microsoft office, you have nothing to show for it. Speaking “cobol” is as useful as Latin. To be competitive in 2010 you have to adapt to the new technology.

Wisdom is like infrastructure. I hope it doesn’t crumble away with our bridges and roads.

Lewreader-it is knowledgeable. I used to know all the artists, but sadly it is drifting away.

PS: I’m going to get an Iphone in a few months when my cell phone contract it up. Have to do it now, as probably won’t be able to learn how to use it by next year. My IMac in Oklahoma is wired to son’s Mac in Illinois. If I get hung up, we to on IChat and he takes over. What a God send!!!!

This is true in my house. Mom (who is 82) calls me every week with a problem with her computer. I show and explain what I am doing so she can do it later knowing full well I will be up the following week doing it again because she can’t remember. It gives us something in common.

I was born in the 60’s and grew up as computers were coming of age and my parents were smart enough to get me involved then even though they were not what they are today. Ah the memories of computers I had and languages I learned.
