As a bright young whippersnapper, I noticed the fish eating the bread I was feeding the ducks. Without much forethought, I baited my hook with bread. It took my not too happy Dad about 10 minutes to get that hook out of that duck because he was not too happy either. I didn’t learn a thing.
feeding bread to the ducks is outlawed here because it causes damage to the ponds of the natural foods that the ducks and fish eat people food and wild life do not mix if its processed don’t feed it.
Ok, this may be a really stupid question; but what is the natural food for a duck? At the state park where I grew up we bought food pellets to feed the ducks and fish in the pond there. If you want a sure fire way to catch fish…velveta.

I’ve heard that if you feed ducks bread it will kill them. Is that true?

You should have recorded it for Opal, Earl.

Feeding ducks a small amount of bread is OK. Too much causes a “bread stomach”…it swells up and they can’t handle it..

Gramptastic - sound like some sort of fatal disease. “Here lies Earl. Dead of gramptastic.”

I like “Gramptastic!”
As to feeding animals, probably okay for smaller animals. I think feeding the bears and alligators might be a little iffy, though.

Feeding ducks bread does not kill them, unless they get their heads stuck in the wrapper and suffocate. So make sure you cut in air holes.

Or better still, bake them into the bread and they can eat their way out.

If feeding ducks bread would kill them, there are a LOT of zombie ducks in our local public pond.

As for the headstone, forget it Earl. SHE’LL be alive to tell them to put something else on it, like NOT HERE FOR ME AGAIN!!!!
Personally, I want mine to read: I WISH I’D SPENT MORE TIME AT WORK. Simply because that’s what they say it never says.
